Founded in July 2022 by mother and daughter duo Mandy and Charlie Collins, Milestone Studios is a creative space in the heart of New Mills, in the beautiful Peak District.

Designed with artists in mind, the studio combines affordable upstairs workspaces with a contemporary ground-floor gallery, shop and workshop area. Our fully equipped workshop, features equipment such as our incredible 1830's Columbian printing press, hosts a varied programme of workshops for all levels.

Our exhibitions programme showcases a diverse mix of emerging and established artists. Each show is carefully curated to offer something new, from text-based installations to bold abstracts. We regularly host public openings and events that give visitors the chance to engage directly with the work and the people behind it. Whether you're a seasoned gallery-goer or just curious, our exhibitions are designed to be welcoming, accessible, and thought-provoking.

Our studio shop is open on Thursdays and Saturdays, and offers a carefully curated selection of art materials, original works, handmade gifts, zines, cards and more, all created by local, independent makers.

Milestone is a space where artists share skills, test ideas, and leave with an abundance of inspiration through conversation and collaboration. Since opening, we’ve supported early-career artists in developing their skills as workshop facilitators, many of them delivering public workshops for the first time. We provide guidance on everything from designing a session and pricing it appropriately to promoting the event and providing essential equipment. For many, Milestone has been a first step toward building a sustainable teaching practice.

Milestone offers low-cost studio space and regularly host free, community events and charitable exhibitions. Our goal is to be a starting point for artists, a place where they can teach, exhibit, and find support at every stage of their journey. With an ever-evolving programme and opportunities to get involved, Milestone Studios continues to grow as a creative space shaped by the people who use it.

Milestone Studios is open on Thursdays and Saturdays 10am to 4pm.

The studio is accessible by public transport, on foot or by car. The studio is across the road from New Mills bus station, and round the corner from Torr Top Car Park. The closest train station is New Mills Central, which is a five minute walk away.
