A hands‑on creative session, perfect for small groups, friends, families, teams and creative collectives.

If you're looking for a unique group experience, Milestone Studios offers private, 2.5hr letterpress workshops for groups of 2–6 people. These sessions are suitable for all ages 12+.

You’ll be working in our Peak District studio on a 200‑year‑old Columbian Printing Press, using antique wooden type faces. Letterpress is officially classed as an endangered craft in the UK, and these workshops give you rare access to historic tools and slow, tactile making.

Make something together! Private workshops are ideal for shared projects.

Past groups have:

• Printed Christmas gifts and cards for friends and family.
• Created collaborative artworks that everyone takes home a copy of.
• Created unique poster prints and tote bags.
• Enjoyed a relaxed, screen‑free day of ink, art and conversation.

It’s a warm, thoughtful way to celebrate a birthday, mark a milestone, or simply spend time together doing something hands-on.

What you’ll do during the session:

• Learn the basics of traditional letterpress, setting type by hand, inking up type and operating our Columbian Printing Press.
• Print your own unique designs.
• Work with historic equipment and materials.
• Leave with finished prints on paper or tote bags.

How to Book:

Private workshops can be arranged on weekdays, weekends or evenings.

For booking a standard 2.5 hour sessions, the cost is £30 per person for group bookings of 4-6 people or £40 per person for group bookings 2-3 people.

All essential materials included, plus free hot drinks and biscuits. This price does not including specialist papers or tote bags which can be purchased separately. For example, tote bags are £2 each.
